Perhaps you are on the Pill and forgot to take it? Maybe you have been sick and you're wondering if the Pill will still work? Possibly you were using a condom and something went wrong?

If you think you may need emergency contraception it's important to act quickly - within hours rather than days. The pill must be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, but works best within 48 hours. According to WHO it prevents 95% of pregnancies if taken within 24 hours, 85% between 25 and 48 hours, and 58% between 49 and 72 hours after sexual intercourse.

Having taken it there is still a chance of becoming pregnant, so always have a pregnancy test and remember it doesn't protect against STD's.
