Minor Ailments

At selected branches (depending on the PCT area) your Green Light pharmacist can save you a trip to the doctor for minor ailments like coughs and colds, headlice, headache, diarrhoea, hayfever, indigestion, thrush, sore throat, haemorrhoids, constipation, threadworm, athletes foot, mouth ulcers, insect bites and nappy rash.

Pharmacists are trained in diagnosing a number of minor ailments, and offer advice and maybe medicine or treatment if appropriate. If you are exempt from prescription payments you will not have to pay for this service.

This saves you time and frees up your doctor for more "major" ailments or urgent appointments. If we think you still need to go to the doctor we will inform you.

It is operated through pharmacies and paid for by the local PCT and there are certain conditions for participation in this free scheme. The service is confidential.
